FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is SSS STEM a scholarship?
No. SSS STEM is a federally funded TRIO Student Support Services program that provides coaching, academic support, professional development, and opportunities designed to promote student success. Financial support is available in select circumstances and can be discussed with either the Director or Program Coordinator. While SSS STEM is not a scholarship program, students are connected with campus resources that can assist in identifying scholarship opportunities.
Do I have to participate in workshops?
Students are encouraged to actively participate in SSS STEM opportunities designed to support their success.
Can transfer students apply?
Yes, if they meet federal TRIO eligibility requirements.
Am I eligible for SSS STEM?
Students may be eligible if they:
- Are pursuing a STEM major
- Meet federal TRIO eligibility requirements
- Demonstrate academic motivation
- Are committed to participating in program activities
